Well here she is!
Last year, I had the good fortune to see a fair bit of the tube network from all angles and all this added to a new fascination with maps and trains in general. On New Year’s Eve, I started with the central line amidst 3 weeks of horrid flu but 42 days later, this is the finished article. There’s still a bit of finishing off that needs to be done and some better photos taken before I send it off to the relevant people. There’s a couple of folks I owe props to for making this what it is, they know who they are
Here’s some statistics I kept track of for the record:
42 days
227 hours pure sewing time
3 metres squared of white felt
2400 approx. metres of thread
7 broken needles
6 spelling mistakes
26 black embroidery silks
89 cups of tea
327 swear words
6 trips to FabricLand
2 cat pee stains
8 tantrums
19 bobbins
143 buttons
4 lost tapestry needles
1 ruined tube poster covered in cat peePosted on January 10, 2012 with 12 notes
